Megan began practicing yoga in Indianapolis in 2005. What started out as a weekly therapy for a previous injury, evolved into a daily practice after moving to NYC in 2011. On her mat, she was able to unravel the chaos and pressures of the sudden and unfamiliar changes showing up in her life. The knowledge, trust, and healing Megan was learning through her yoga practice was something she knew she wanted to share with others. Knowing it was time to take the next step in this journey, she became a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, through Yoga To The People NYC, in 2014.
Shortly after her teaching career began, Megan suffered a knee injury that forced her back into a beginner practice. Instead of bringing her down, though, she chose to learn from this experience, ultimately making her stronger. Understanding that we are all beginners and there is always more to learn, Megan decided to enroll in her advanced teacher training. Graduating from Three Sisters Yoga in 2018, she received her 500-hour certificate.
Now, with over 10 years of practice and holding over 500 training hours, including restorative and kid’s yoga, as well as building her own business, Find Your You Yoga, she still believes that it is always the beginning. Being a student first and then a teacher teaches her that there is something new to learn from everything.
With a strong focus on alignment, derived from Katonah methodology, Megan’s classes are powerful. Still weaving in a sense of playfulness and creativity learned from her long time mentor, Nick Demos. Her favorite part about teaching is creating a dialogue and connecting with students through hands on assists and adjustments.
